10 Most Effective Ways to Preach the Gospel Today

Preaching the Gospel is the commission of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ gave to His followers. But the big question is “HOW“? How can we preach the Gospel especially today? Times and things may change, but the message remains the same. We are commanded by our Captain of Salvation to “go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to all people” (Mark 16:15, GNB).

Preaching the Gospel is the most IMPORTANT work on the face of the planet. Thus, it is crucial that we, as Christians, know how we bring the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to every corner of the world. While this might be a difficult task, Jesus expects His people to do their best. As long as we do our part, God will give the increase in our labor (I Corinthians 3:6-7).

So, in this blog, let me share with you 10 powerful ways we can preach the Gospel today.

1. Study the Bible

We know that we can’t give something that we don’t have. In the same way, we need to know what the Gospel is all about. Before we can teach, we must know what to preach. By studying the Bible, we can have a proper understanding of what God expects from us.

Here’s something that we all need to learn: before we can preach the Gospel, we must know what the Gospel is.

Before we can preach the Gospel, we must know what the Gospel is.

While the purpose of my blog today is not about defining the Gospel, I just want to give a quick overview. The Gospel came from a Middle English word meaning “good news.” In Greek, it came from the word euaggelion which means “a good message.”

Contrary to what most Christians believe, the Gospel is NOT primarily about Jesus Christ or His life. In the biblical language, the Gospel is about the coming Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14-15). That’s why it is called “good” news because it talks about the good news that one day God will directly intervene in the affairs of men by sending His Son to establish His Kingdom here on earth.

This is a huge topic, and I highly recommend that you read the eye-opening article entitled “What is the true Gospel?” This article will give you a comprehensive and biblically sound definition of the Gospel.

Again, to be an effective preacher of the Gospel, you need to study the Bible first. By doing so, we can be “READY TO GIVE A DEFENSE (or preach the Gospel) to everyone who asks [us] a reason for the hope that is in [us], with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15).

2. Pray for God’s help

We read in the Bible different things we must pray for. One of that is to “pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:38). We need to earnestly pray for God’s help that we can be effective preachers of the Gospel. We must not commit the mistake of thinking that we can do it all by ourselves. As a matter of fact, preaching the Gospel is not about us. It is about God’s will and purpose for the entire humanity. That’s why we need His help.

Aside from praying for ourselves, we must also pray for the ministers, pastors, and other servants of God. We need to realize that God has called people to do His work and we must pray for each other. We pray to God to open more doors of opportunities for the advancement of the Gospel.

Amen. So many people, pastors and spiritual leaders leave the Bible behind, cherry-picking the very words of of God. And folks from politicians misinterpret the Bible and believers nod their heads. This is one reason why we don’t share. How can one defend the faith without a firm understanding of both the Tanakh and the Gospel. If we know and hide, we are falling flat on our face. If we want to reach Israel, we must be steeped in the prophecy of the Tanakh. Every. Last. Word. As I work my way again and again through the living Word, I pray for that wisdom to understand and recognize Jesus, repentance, grace, and faith. It is also the only way we can preach the Gospel. Thank you for this word today!
