The year 2019 is coming to a close, and Joshua’s Outpost is entering its second year as a ministry. This past year has been a blessing for this ‘little’ blogging ministry. Our contributorship has grown from 7 to 10 contributors this past year. Our readership spans the global community with the United States, Nigeria, Australia, South Africa, and the Philippines as the top countries visiting our blog. Those in the age range of 25-34 are our largest demographic group. Moreover, women are viewing our blog more than men, with 62 percent versus 38 percent conversely.
Here are the top 5 blog posts for 2019:
Number 5: The 5 Signs of Pride by Paul Arnold
Should a Christian man have pride in his work, family, and craftsmanship? What is the difference between the sin of pride and the healthy confidence I have as a man? As we study the Bible, we see a clear definition of the sin of pride and learn we can still have strength and confidence as a Christian.
Number 4: Dating, Nude Pics & Unnecessary Drama by Clinton Wayne Pillay
My sudden entrance back into the world of singleness has left me a little bewildered. Apparently sending pictures of various organs or fully nude is commonplace. However, this post is about sex, marriage, Hollywood and how society is descending into anarchy.
Number 3: The Purpose of a Partner by Clinton Wayne Pillay
When we think of a partner, we think of someone that we would spend our life with. Someone to start a family with and grow old together. Was that really why God created us? This post explores the purpose of finding a spouse.
Number 2: Study hard so you can get a good, high paying job and you’ll be happy by Clinton Wayne Pillay
There are those quiet moments, we sit on that contemporary couch, look around and say to ourselves, “Is this it? If I’m living “the life”, why do I feel empty? Why do I feel unfulfilled?” Let’s look at the myth that a high-paying job will make us happy.
Number 1: 5 Lies Christians Believe About Marriage by Prescott Williamson
Marriage is not easy. It does not come delivered in a nice, neat package to your front door. What makes it even harder is the lies we believe. The lies told to us from the ultimate review troll-Satan. Here are 5 lies, I’ve seen with my own eyes, that are believed by Christians.
Giving Thanks
First, we want to thank God for blessing our blogging ministry. We hope we are bringing glory to God and helping Christian men grow in their faith.
Lastly, I want to thank each and every one of the contributors who write for Joshua’s Outpost. I want to express my gratefulness to Darryl, Mitchell, Clinton, Prescott, Tom, Paul, Chad, James, George, and Jason. God has blessed me with your friendships.
Most importantly, I want to say thank you to my wife, Heather. Without your love and constant support, I would not have started this blog. I love you for all that you do.
We want you to know that we do not take our success for granted at all. We pray and hope 2020 will bring bigger blessings. In 2020, Joshua’s Outpost plans on exploring ways to grow our blog and the resources we provide to men.
Again, thank you for all your love and support. God bless!
