Top 10: Psalm 23
The ETERNAL is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of Eternal Forever.
Psalm 23 is among the most encouraging verses that I always turn to when I feel down and sad.
In the opening verse, it says that is Yahweh, the Eternal, the One who is the Supreme Ruler of the entire universe is your personal Shepherd.
He takes care of us.
He loves us and provides all our needs.
And because He is our Shepherd, we will NOT lack anything that we need.
I strongly admonish you to read Psalm 23 and understand the meaning of each word it conveys.
From providing all our needs to protecting us from evil, God is always there for us.
To top it all, Psalm 23 ends with the promise that we will dwell in the house of the Almighty.
We will no longer be strangers, but we will be called children of the Most High!
Top 9: Psalm 84:11
For the Eternal God is a sun and shield;
YAHWEH will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
Here’s a promise that you can count on.
Psalm 84:11 tells us that the Creator of the heavens and the earth is our sun and shield.
He gives us light and protects us from all forms of evil.
The Eternal will grant us favor and glory.
He will bless us according to his richness.
Now, here’s what you should take note of.
He will NOT withhold anything that is good for us.
So, if you prayed for something and God didn’t give it to you, He knows that what you are asking won’t be good.
If God knows that it will be good for us, then He will surely give us.
That’s basically what this verse is telling us.
God has our best interest in mind.
In His infinite wisdom, He sees the beginning and the end.
He perfectly knows what’s good and bad for us.
Thus, we simply need to trust Him that whatever He grants us will be for our ultimate good.
Top 8: Matthew 19:29-30
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
Sometimes, the best way for us to get inspired and motivated is to think about the rewards we will receive when Yahshua (Jesus Christ) returns here on earth.
In following God, it is no secret that we will meet a lot of adversities and lose something in doing what is good.
However, in Matthew 19, Jesus is encouraging us that whatever we lose in this life, we will receive back not just twice or thrice as much, but He will bless us a hundredfold of whatever we have lost!
Christ was saying that if following Him will cost us our properties, our loved ones, our earthly possessions, the respect of others, our job, and education, just let go of them.
Why?
Because He will reward us more than what we have lost.
He will reward us in ways we have never imagined!
Not only that, but He will reward us with the ultimate reward – eternal life.
If you think about it, losing everything just to gain God’s approval would be all worth it in the end.
Yes, you might be last today because you have followed God, but you will surely be first in His Kingdom!
Now, that’s something that you should encourage you!
Top 7: Romans 8:31-32, 35, 37-39
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In this passage, the Apostle Paul poses a question:
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Such a powerful and profound question!
Whenever you feel upset, depressed, sad, frustrated, and disappointed, you need to remember that God is with you.
And if God is with you, no one can be against you.
The Apostle Paul continued on by saying that NOTHING can separate us from the love of Christ.
In fact, we are more than conquerors because God loves us.
We must be like Paul who is fully convinced and persuaded that not even death, life, angels, principalities, height, and depth can ever separate us from God and His Son.
So, no matter what you’re going through right now, please know that even that problem will never EVER separate you from God.
