“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” Eccl. 3:1-2
If my destination is in the East, what I do is journey towards the East. If in the West, I do likewise, I go West. Thus, no matter how turbulent or crooked it may look, I am bound to reach it if I still head towards my destination. However, now, if my destination is due East, but I start heading North, will I ever arrive at my destination? Of course not. No man ever arrives at the right place by taking the wrong route.
The Bible talks about the crucial nature of the time of the events of life. Everything that happens or will happen has a period. We are not going to talk about time today, though. I am not going to tell you that it is important for you to be planting-conscious. Instead, today I want to ask you to be reaper-conscious in everything and every day of your life.
Reap what you will sow
Today’s harvests are products of yesterday’s plantings. Those who plant nothing reap nothing. It is a simple law God stated in Gen. 8:22. Time is a consistent component. However, time is not the only constant component in life. Sowing is. You always reap whatever you sow. You will always reap something.
Everyone wants to gain and take something from this life. The self-investment you make in life, school, and/or business is so that something can come out of it, right. Nevertheless, do you also know that this is the same with your spirit and eternal life? Whatever it is that you choose to put in will affect what you are going to have later on.
Many people have nothing to live for every day because they do not have anything to expect. Why do they not have anything to expect? Because they have given nothing. I like to see every day and everything I do as an investment in life. Hence, every day I expect needs met (me receiving and me giving out) and hope to live still. I believe this devotional is an investment, and like every investment, it pays and will pay.

Now, seeing that whatever you do today is going into your future to wait for you and your lineage, whether as good or bad, what kind of decision are you going to make regarding your actions?
Are you going to talk anyhow? Will you about go anywhere? Are you just going to do anything you like because you feel like it? No, it is bigger than that. If you need good days ahead of you, invest in them today. Be good to others, help and respect others. Do not take pleasure in mocking or ridiculing others.
If you know that whatever you do will come back to you in due time as a harvest (Don’t forget the component of time), then you have to have a strong resolve about putting in the effort and making the sacrifice today worth it. No, your prayers are not in vain. Do not stop praying for them. Studying the scriptures and reading books, increasing your spiritual insight via study is an excellent investment in your spiritual future. Developing yourself to read, listen to messages, serve in the Church and be a better person every day is a worthy investment.
I want to encourage you to keep harvests before you every day. You are going to reap goodness in life in the name of Jesus. Decide today to invest in your spiritual future, your children, marriage, peace, and prosperity. Every investment will go ahead of you and wait to embrace you upfront.
Sow only what you want to Reap!
