“Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth, ye have seen him”
(John 14:6-7)
“In him (Jesus the Word) was life; and the life was the light of men.” -John. 1:4
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.” – John 6:47-48 (NKJV)
“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” – 1John 5:11-14 (NKJV)
In making it to life, it is important to know that until you accept Jesus sincerely by surrendering your whole life to Him, you cannot enter into the life path. No matter how good you have been and the help you may have given out, Jesus is what you need to live a hopeful life. No other path has a hopeful future, I don’t care who has traveled it before.
You know, usually, we can get deceived by other people’s legacies on this journey. However, it is not the truth. Most people are remembered and celebrated in nations today but do you know whether they made it to life on the other side of eternity with God or not? Nobody cares about that. Therefore, we have many people pursuing the same: “I too must be celebrated, no matter what I have to do to qualify.”
Don’t bother too much about how this world will be like after you leave, better place or not, this world will soon fade away in destruction any way (2 Peter 3:10-14). Worry less about marks or legacies, though they are very great pursuits, yet they are not and should not be life’s greatest or only pursuit. Your goal should be on your own state after you are done here in this world; your destination after death, your eternity. This should be your pursuit and concern. – Phil. 3:7-15, 2nd Cor. 4:18, 1st Cor. 9:24-27: that was the great Apostle’s own goal and concern.
Many are concerned about here, even after they die; how it will look like down here. They strive passionately for great global impart and recognition. This is a great thing, I agree. However, is it the utmost? The highest thing this world will do for a late hero might be to immortalize him, that is, make a memorial, name a street, a state, or a holiday to celebrate him, etc. Nothing more.
However, can we see what lies beneath these great feats or achievements of this life? Humanity may count itself blessed by this individual’s existence. It has brought benefit to this world but has it brought to the other side a better report of him? If the truth is revealed after this man dies, where does he open his eyes forever? We need to start thinking of the other side.
We must realize that the destination is the whole focus of the journey. Without the destination, the journey is useless and endless. Is there any point in making a trip that has no destination? The destination is more important than the journey. Every journey has a destination, no matter how the journey looks like. It is because of the destination that the journey begins in the first place. Yet, the journey also determines the destination. Someone may ask me, how do you mean?
If my destination is in the East, what I do is a journey towards the East. If in the West, I do likewise, I go West. And no matter how turbulent or crooked it may look, if I still head towards my destination, I am bound to reach it. But, now, if my destination is due East but I start heading North, will I ever arrive at my destination? Of course not. No man ever arrives at the right place by taking the wrong route. Never forget that.
Death does not end man it only translates him. Death is not a stop or an end. It is a checkpoint, which leads or ushers man into that reality called Eternity- forever. You are ushered into eternity the day you die here. In addition, the eternal destination can be either heaven or hell. Knowing the gravity of this subject, do you still think wasting yourself is the best you can do for yourself?
Think about this today.
Then, I show you the Way of life: Jesus Christ, the Son of God. According to our opening texts, only those who receive Jesus into their lives can receive the life that has hope both here and in forever. This life is called the “Zoe” life. It is the God-kind or Divine life imparted into you to make you live a better life here and have a better destination in the life to come.

Romans 10:9-10 tells us how to receive this life: believe that Jesus is both Son of God and Savior of our wretched souls, and confess him as your Lord with your mouth. In other words, declare your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Master with a willing heart to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of your life. You can do this anywhere and anytime, right now.
Why not go ahead and accept the Way that I am showing you. There is a new life awaiting you if you do so and it is free because Jesus already paid so that you can have it. Moreover, He keeps waiting for you to do so.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” -Revelation 3:20
Talk to the Lord now and surrender to Him. He is the Way.
God bless you.
